How RetailOps Integrates with Channels

This article provides an overview of how RetailOps interacts with your sales channels. This high-level view will allow you to manage your channels and your data more effectively.

RetailOps is the system of record for your inventory. RO flows this data out to your sales channels so customers can view your products and place orders for them. RO interacts with channels using five points of integration. When RO is integrated with a channel, the five processes below run to send data back and forth. Not all points of integration are possible for all channels.

The Five Points of Integration

The Five Points of Integration
  1. Catalog Push
    • Direction: RO > Channel
    • Send catalog data from RO to the channel. This includes product name and brand, attributes, pricing, and product images.
    • Catalog push is accomplished through the feed system.
  2. Inventory Push
    • Direction: RO > Channel
    • Send data on inventory quantities from RO to the channel.
  3. Order Import
    • Direction: Channel > RO
    • Import customer orders from the channel into RO.
  4. Tracking Push
    • Direction: RO > Channel
    • Send shipment tracking info from RO to the channel after shipments are fulfilled in RO.
  5. Order Writeback
    • Direction: RO > Channel
    • If any edits are made to the order in RO, this process sends the edits back from RO to the channel.
